Brothers All: Spanish Freemasonry Cheers Francis’ New Encyclical on Human Fraternity
by Rev. Fr. Benedict Hughes, CMRI
This should come as absolutely no surprise: On Oct. 5, 2020, only one day after the release of “Pope” Francis’ latest encyclical letter, Fratelli Tutti, the Grand Orient Freemasons of Spain published a statement praising the “papal” document for its adoption and propagation of Freemasonic ideas, by which Francis necessarily also rejects the Catholic Church’s historic condemnations of the Lodge....

Created in God's Image: What Are Catholics to Think of the Proliferation of Drug Use in Our Country?
by Rev. Fr. Benedict Hughes, CMRI
Every year at election time there is news of certain ballot measures that have passed in various states of this country. It seems that each year the voters of another state (or two or three or four), pass a ballot measure permitting the “recreational” use of marijuana. In fact, there were four more states legalizing the use of marijuana this year. But there was also something new—for the first time the voters of a state (Oregon) decriminalized possession of small amounts of the so-called “hard” drugs, such as cocaine, heroin, oxycodone and methamphetamines....

False Pope Approves of Homosexual “Civil Unions”
Reprinted with permission from NovusOrdoWatch.org
By now you’ve probably already heard about it: The Jesuit apostate Jorge Bergoglio, better known by his pseudonym “Pope Francis,” has publicly called for civil unions for sodomite couples — a type of legal substitute for “gay marriage” — and then some....

American Heroes of the Faith
Apostle of the Rocky Mountain Tribes: Fr. Pierre-Jean de Smet, SJ
by Rev. Fr. Benedict Hughes, CMRI
"The blood of the martyrs is the seed of the Church” &8212; so runs an old adage that has proven true time and again. The eight Jesuit North American martyrs, put to death by the hostile Iroquois in the 1640’s, could never have guessed that descendants of those same vicious enemies, through the graces of the sacrifice of their lives, would be converted and eventually carry the torch of Faith far to the west two centuries later....

Pontmain: Our Lady Brings Hope to Her Children
by Rev. Fr. Benedict Hughes, CMRI
As one approaches the town of Pontmain in northwestern France, one thing becomes noticeable — the many outdoor crucifixion scenes and other Catholic shrines throughout the area. These shrines give evidence of the piety of the local people and are a testimony to the zeal of their pastor, Fr. Guerin, who was appointed pastor of Pontmain in the middle of the 19th century....

In Season — Out of Season
He Came to Serve
by Rev. Fr. Casimir Puskorius, CMRI
Dear parishioners, visitors and guests, when we look at the infinitely lovable Infant in the manger, we realize some things very deeply. And the more we meditate, the more we see. This infinitely lovable Baby came to suffer. He came to die. And He came to serve. These reasons should inflame us all the more with love for Him, because when we reflect upon these words — that He came to suffer, to die and to serve — we realize, too, that He came not just for all mankind, but for for each of us. He came to suffer for me. He came to die for me, 33 years hence. And He came to serve....

How to Pray Well
by Rev. Fr. Dominic Radecki, CMRI
Prayer is to the soul what water is to a plant. Just as long periods of drought and neglect to water will result in the death of a plant, so also, when prayer is lacking, the spiritual life dries up and the heart becomes harder day-by-day. It is impossible to lead a virtuous life without prayer. Prayer is our lifeline to God through which His graces come to us. Try living without a cell phone; you know the result. Don’t ever try living without prayer. ...
