The “Tradwife” Phenomenon
By Rev. Fr. Benedict Hughes, CMRI
Have you heard the term: “tradwife”? You might be thinking that it refers to traditional Catholic wives, since we faithful Catholics are sometimes referred to as “trads.” Actually, the term has become popular to describe women (of any religion or background) who are embracing the traditional role of wife and mother in the home. If you put that term into the search engine on your computer, you will come up with hundreds of articles, podcasts, short videos, and other testimonials from women who have rejected the feminist idea of the role of women...

Pope Pius XII on Screen Time and Your Child
By Rev. Fr. Anthony Alley
Screen time. The words send a collective shudder down the spines of all good parents. In the last fifteen years or so, with the appearance of smartphones and social media, screen time has become an ever-increasing source of anxiety for parents. It has become apparent that our young people are severely impacted by screens. The devastating effects of this form of media are obvious. Our children are less social and more depressed, less literate and more distracted. The amount of ink spilled over this problem could fill libraries...

Reflections on the Recent Ordinations
By Rev. Fr. Joseph Appelhanz
On April 28th, 2026, the feast of St. Louis Marie de Montfort, Fr. Lucas Oliveira and Fr. Anthony Alley were ordained to the holy priesthood. Fr. Oliveira is from the far-off country of Brazil, while Fr. Alley is from South Dakota. The ordaining bishop was His Excellency Bishop Mark Pivarunas, CMRI. The ceremony took place at Mary Immaculate Catholic Church in Omaha, Nebraska. In the same ceremony, Rev. Mr. Thomas Netzel and Rev. Mr. Richard Lauricella were ordained to the diaconate, the last step before the holy priesthood. Hundreds of faithful Catholics from throughout the United States and Canada were in attendance for these ceremonies...

Selections from “The Church and Her Divine Constitution”
By Dom Adrien Gréa (originally published in French in 1885)
...It follows from this whole exposition that the episcopate has inherited in all its fullness the ordinary and transmissible jurisdiction conferred upon the apostles in the universal Church, a jurisdiction essential to and fully dependent upon the Vicar of Jesus Christ, and that the bishops are truly the successors of the apostles in the full extent of the term...

Saved by Our Lady: The Story of Fr. Paul Forster
By Rev. Fr. Joseph Appelhanz
When Archduke Franz Ferdinand was assassinated in Bosnia on June 28th, 1914, the earth would find itself plunged into the bloodiest war in human history (up to that point). Over 8.5 million people would lose their lives in “The Great War.” World War I unleashed untold evils upon the world. Nevertheless, heroes emerged. Many faithful priests, such as Fr. William Doyle, S.J., would assist the soldiers at the risk of their lives. The Catholic Faith would be a source of strength to millions of soldiers fighting for their lives in the trenches. Our Blessed Lady watched over her faithful followers. Fr. Paul Forster, a Redemptorist, was one such individual. Mary did not save his life just once; she saved him numerous times...

American Heroes of the Catholic Faith: Fr. Walter Ciszek, Missionary to Soviet Russia
By Rev. Fr. Benedict Hughes, CMRI
The year 1917 was a momentous one in world history. While Our Blessed Mother was appearing at Fatima, revolutionary currents were underway in Russia. As she warned in that series of apparitions: “If my requests are not granted, Russia will spread her errors throughout the world.” At the time, the faithful of Portugal, as well as those of other countries, were hardly aware of the ominous events taking place in Russia, but they would soon find out...

The Biblical Basis for Devotion to Mary
A Mothers' Day Sermon Delivered by Rev. Fr. Benedict Hughes, CMRI
My dearly beloved in Christ, today on Mother’s Day we thank our mothers and reflect upon all that they did for us as we were growing up. We pray for them, whether living or deceased, with deep gratitude. But we also should reflect upon our Heavenly Mother. For we know that when Our Lord was dying on the Cross, He said to Our Lady: “Behold thy son,” and then to John, “Behold thy mother.” At that moment Jesus filled Mary’s heart with a great love and compassion for all mankind. She became our spiritual mother...

Mary’s Greatest Apostle: St. Louis Marie De Montfort
By Rev. Fr. Dominic Radecki, CMRI
Our Lady lavishly bestowed her great blessings in Brittany, France’s most Catholic province. “Truly among the devoted children of Mary sprung from France, none has loved or served her more faithfully than St. Louis Grignon de Montfort; for he made it the work of his life to spread devotion to Mary, and converted innumerable sinners by preaching the holy Rosary, Mary’s own prayer." As a son of Brittany, he could accurately be called Mary’s Greatest Apostle....
