No. 186: Spiritual Aids for Confraternity Members (January, February and March)
January
- January is the month of the Holy Name. Make a special effort to make reparation for the insults and blasphemies committed against the Holy Name, especially by the recital of the Divine Praises, or the simple aspirations, “Blessed be His Holy Name,” and “Most Holy Name of Jesus, save us!”
- Intention: For the spiritual success of the priests’ meeting, for an end to abortion, and for peace in our country
- Daily extra prayer: Litany of the Holy Name of Jesus
- Suggested books for spiritual reading: Trustful Surrender to Divine Providence by Saint-Jure/Colombiere, Theology and Sanity by Sheed, St. Antony of the Desert by Athanasius, Forty Dreams of St. John Bosco.
February
- February is the month of the Sacred Passion. Kiss your crucifix often in reparation for your sins and in gratitude for His love which led Him to lay down His life for you.
- Intention: For the spread of the traditional Catholic Faith throughout the world and the restoration of the Catholic hierarchy.
- Daily extra prayer: Litany of Humility
- Suggested books for spiritual reading: Treatise on the Spiritual Life by St. Vincent Ferrer, Mary’s Seven Sorrows (pamphlet), St. Gabriel of Our Lady of Sorrows (pamphlet), A Heart for Europe by Bogle.
March
- March is dedicated in a special way to St. Joseph. Make extra visits to an image or shrine of this great Saint throughout the month.
- Intention: Pray in a special way for many holy vocations to the priesthood and the religious life.
- Daily extra prayer: “O St. Joseph, Whose protection is so great, so strong…”
