Selectively Excusing Modernism

It is not normally by policy to respond to critics. However, an effort has been undertaken by Jacob Michael to "respond" to what he calls the "intellectually inept" essay of mine, "A New Theology for a New Religion," which critiqued Joseph Ratzinger's Principles of Catholic Theology. The selective nature of the "response," which ignores the entire thrust of Modernism condemned by Pope St. Pius X in Pascendi Dominici Gregis and of the "new thinkers" by Pope Pius XII in Humani Generis, reveals that Mr. Michael is unwilling to look objectively at the overall theological methodology of Joseph Ratzinger, which is indeed at odds with Catholicism....

The vows ceremonies for the Sisters of the Congregation of Mary Immaculate Queen took place at Mount St. Michael on June 27, 2006, the feast of Our Mother of Perpetual Help. This year the ceremonies included the Silver Jubilee of three professed Sisters, the First Vows of two novices, and the reception into the novitiate of three postulants. As is the custom with the Sisters' Silver Jubilees, the cermony began with all the Sisters, holding lighted candles, processing into the chapel chanting the Salve Regina....
